Wednesday 4th, I had interview 1 of 2 in Islington. I was there for two and a half hours. TWO and a half HOURS. Afterwards, I went for some much needed retail therapy in town. New Look, 20% student discount month, and Primark, cheap all-year-round goodness.

This is what I found when I arrived.

Yeah. That would be New Look cordended off by Police, and Primark also surrounded by Police tape. So I waited around for a further half an hour before shopping could commence. I’m still not sure what happened. From what I overheard, some kind of accident, perhaps involving the death of a pedestrian and a bus.

Thursday 5th was interview 2 of 2, a lot more pleasant – really lovely family, gorgeous little baby and not too far to travel. Really hope I get it, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

Later that day, my mum got cheap tickets for us to see the Sound of Music at the Palladium. They put on a good show. Summer Strallen was very good, perhaps outdone by the cute little kids and Mother Abbess, and, I dare say, Connie Fisher. But a good show none-the-less.

Here’s Rebecca waiting outside the theatre for my mother to come out of the toilets. She was literally the last one to leave. We had to ask the stewards to unlock the front doors a couple of times, as there was still someone inside.

Friday 6th, a whole day of lectures and I was invited to a party later on by a uni friend in Old Street. All that, and I don’t believe I took a single photo. So here’s one I took coming back from Oxford Street on Wednesday of a shop in Golders Green. I hope no Chiness people are offended.

Saturday 7th, I had a whole day of work, then dashed home to get ready for the Dress to Impress party a few people from uni were having at their flat, again, in Old Street.  In fact, these photos also count as Sunday 8th, since I did nothing interesting all day except recover from sitting at the bus stop from 2.30am until about 3.30am waiting for a bus with nothing on my legs in -2 temperatures. That was fun. The party was great, though – very ap’tly named. The first one here was before Bjorn decided he wanted to break his one-week-alcohol-drought. About 11.30pm.

And after…about an hour later. (I’m sure Dyveke would like me to add here that that finger is currently MISSING and she wants it back!)

Monday 9th, Bjorn and I needed to do our Web Creation podcast, so we headed to the newly kitted our Journalism department, where I came face to face with my worst nightmare.

They’ve got whole rooms full of APPLEs. WHY? Why why why? Apart from that little mishap, it looks very fancy (fully operational radio and broadcast studios!)

And today, Tuesday 10th, another day of lectures and not much else. This is what I had to navigate on my way in. Islington drainage system no worky.

I should have a day off tomorrow, but instead, I’m going in to record the podcast we were supposed to do yesterday. Fun times ahead.

Saturday 31st, and Alyona recieves a basket full of love at work, from an anonymous Ukranian.

Sunday 1st Feb, and this was the view at about 10pm. A few hours before, it was bare.

Fast forward about 8 hours to Monday 2nd Feb, and we woke up to at least 8 inches covering the majority of the South of England, Lily Allen was ITV’s only guest for the whole morning, London transport was shut down, Alyona walked to work from about four miles away and had to borrow some jeans, and I was stuck at home eating. Bad times.

This is my mother, who thought it would be a good idea to go to work with a suitcase. It was quite funny watching her de-snow the car.

I managed to get to uni on Tuesday 3rd, and found this somewhat ethnic snowman gracing the main entrance.

And I swear, that’s it for my Great-Snow-of-2009 photos. For this week, anyway.

I’ve been busy again! On Wednesday I went shopping and then headed out with Bjorn in the evening. Here he is, in his tiny room where he decided to light a sparkler. That empty wine bottle was one of two. Between the two of us. Yeah.

So off we went to Revue bar in Soho for Trannyshack. These two are Alise from Florida and Christina from New Jersey (this photo counts as the 29th. It just does. Unless you want to see a naked tranny dancing up on stage, with other trannys swatting at their privates (my camera refused to work during this comedy gold mine, but photos exist).

And here, we have what I prepared for dinner tonight. You are looking at a mushroom stuffed with tomato, onion and cheese on toasted ciabatta with roasted vegetables (I swear). It was actually quite tasty.

I spotted this random blossoming tree on my short walk from the bus stop to uni. First signs of spring, in the mid-winter?

Back to university for me. I don’t actually have a photo from yesterday, considering I did absolutely nothing worth photographing, but technically this can count for both, since I stayed up into the earlier hours re-learning the shorthand alphabet.

Picture the scene. The four of us, dressed in smart casual in an Upper Street cocktail bar on a Friday night. We must have been the youngest there by about 10 years, and the only ones not dressed straight from their yuppy day job. Eventually the stigma of youth got too much and we ended up downscaling to The Famous Cock pub, and on to the chip shop/McDonalds. Much more our style.

And from today, my first day back at work in about 12 days.

I was fully prepared, until about half an hour ago, to post two photos from last night and pass them off as before and after midnight. Because we got some classic shots, and I didn’t actually DO anything today, besides sleep of a hangover.

Let me explain. I’ve had my current “phone” for over two years now. It was a Christmas present one year. I’ve been happy with it until recently where it’s started doing what it wants, and not working. So my mum came home with this beauty for me, along with a 2GB Micro SD card, and I think I’m going to love it.

He’s been coveting one for what seems like forever, and my boyfriend finally purchased an iPhone today.

I personally don’t see the point of them, and if today is anything to go by, the thing gets more attention than me!

But that’s OK. As I got on the coach back to London this evening, the driver took a second look at my ticket.

“Miss <last name>?”

“Yes..?”

“We’ve met before, I think!”

“Oh..have we?”

“Yes. I don’t forget a pretty face!”

Take that, iPhone!

It’s my last night in Sheffield, and instead of going out, we decided to stay in and watch a movie.

We heard one of Hummy’s housemates ask another housemate and his friends to keep their voices down in the corridor, followed by loud banging and shouting.

We came out to find this. Hummy’s housemate had been thrown to the floor by the neck by the other housemate’s friend, who had also caused this damage to the wall.

It’s almost 1.30am and we’re up waiting for the Police. Can’t say Sheffield’s boring!

I stayed true to my beloved Tall Vanilla Latte, of course. Hayley went with the more adventurous Caramel-Hot-Chocolate-Cream-somethingorother. I wasn’t paying attention, I was just happy to see her again!

Don’t tell my boyfriend, but she’s the real reason I come to Sheffield!
